Holy Communion is the reception of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It is the opportunity for those members of the Catholic Community who are in full communion with Christ to bring the Real Presence of Jesus - body, soul, and divinity - into their lives. Beautifully, we are able to take part in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass every day and wonderfully receive Jesus through the Eucharist.
Pope Francis, in his 2013 Apostolic Exhortation Evangelium Gaudii writes: “The Eucharist, although it is the fullness of sacramental life, is not a prize for the perfect but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak.”
Information about the Sacrament of First Holy Communion for children is available as part of our Religious Education Program. Adults who wish to receive the Sacraments of Initiation are asked to contact the Parish Office at (732)-329-2893 and discuss with the staff the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or RCIA.
